The Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) encompasses all data requested and received by TEA about public education, including student demographic and academic performance, personnel, financial, and organizational information.
|
 |
The TSDS system includes a certified PEIMS data store that will serve as a repository for certified data used for state and federal compliance reporting, funding, program evaluation, and educational research.
TEA will populate the certified PEIMS data store through automated periodic extracts, or snapshots, of data from the DCD for specific compliance, funding, and accountability purposes, and school districts and TEA will validate these snapshots through a workflow and validation process.
This process alleviates the burden on districts to perform unduly complex actions and allows for a more accurate, cost-effective creation of state-required data.

Draft PEIMS District Connections Database-Data Standards for 2013-14
The District Connections Database (DCD) is the core of a
district-facing statewide education data warehouse solution. This solution
will provide a new environment that will collect granular operational data
from the districts' local source systems into the DCD. The DCD is intended
to drive the district-facing Performance Dashboards and Reporting Services
as well as the PEIMS data submissions. This set of documents contain draft
PEIMS DCD Data Standards for 2013-2014. The information will remain in
draft mode until March 2012 and future updates will be posted on this site
as they become available.
Disclaimer:
These documents are in draft mode and still in the process of being reviewed
by the Texas Education Agency, school district, and education service center
staff and may undergo a number of revisions before being published as part
of the 2013-2014 PEIMS Data Standards.
